cancellations and refunds:

CANCELLATIONS:
• Please contact Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni by phone to cancel a booking. #940-595-7368• Cancellations cannot be rebooked on the same day as the initial booking.

 

PONTOON RENTALS:
• Cancellations must be made no later than 5 days prior your scheduled rental start time in order to receive a credit voucher for a future rental during the current season. Credit vouchers cannot be redeemed on weekends or holidays.
• Cancellations made within the 5-day grace period, other than same day cancellations, will forfeit their security deposit in full. No credit voucher will be issued.

• The 5-day grace period does not apply to bookings made within 5 days of the scheduled rental start time or same day bookings. Bookings made within 5 days of the scheduled rental start time and same day bookings are not eligible for cancellation. No refund of security deposit or credit voucher will be issued.

• Same day cancellations are non-refundable. No security deposit refund or credit voucher will be issued.
• Cancellations for holiday and special events rentals are non-refundable. Renter will be charged the full amount of the rental and security deposit to the card on file. No security deposit refund or credit voucher will be issued.

• No-shows will be charged the full price of the rental fee and deposit to the card on file.
• Renters who arrive 30 minutes late or more to their rental, will have their booking cancelled and they will be charged for the full rental amount and security deposit.
• No refunds or credits will be issued for unused time or early returns.
• Customers WILL receive a credit voucher for a future rental during the same rental season
in the event Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni cancels your booking due to hazardous weather conditions, acts of God, or other unforeseen circumstances. Not all inclement weather qualifies for cancellation. Only hazardous weather conditions, including hail, sleet, tropical storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, lightning storms and high winds, which hinder the Renter from safely operating the vessel and/or equipment on the water, and temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit at rental start time, qualify for weather related cancellations. Rental credit vouchers are not eligible for inclement weather that begins after the renter takes possession of the boat and the rental begins. 

KAYAK RENTALS:

• Cancellations cannot be rebooked on the same day as the initial booking.

Same day cancellations are non-refundable. No security deposit refund or credit voucher will be issued.

• Cancellations for holiday and special events rentals are non-refundable. Renter will be charged the full amount of the rental and security deposit to the card on file. No credit voucher will be issued.
• No-shows will be charged the full price of the rental fee and deposit.

RENTAL CREDIT VOUCHERS:

The following applies for credit vouchers issued by Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni:

• Credit vouchers cannot be used the same day as the original booking.

• Credit vouchers are only redeemable Monday - Friday during the same rental season. Credit vouchers cannot be redeemed on weekends or holidays, without pre-approval.

• Credit Vouchers can only be redeemed by the original Renter. Original Renter must be present at credit rental.

• The credit voucher only covers the Renter and those passengers present on the original rental. New parties cannot be added. 

• The $400.00 refundable security deposit applies to all credit voucher rentals. Security deposit must be held in order to redeem credit voucher rental.

• Cancellations for credit voucher rental bookings must be made no later than 5 days before your scheduled rental start time.

• Cancellations made within the 5-day grace period will forfeit the credit voucher in its entirety.  

BY COMPLETING A RENTAL BOOKING, RENTER ACKNOWLEDGES THESE ARE PEER TO PEER RENTALS AND AGREES TO COMPLY WITH ALL RENTAL  POLICIES, AND UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES THAT ONCE HE/SHE TAKES POSSESSION OF THE BOAT, KAYAK, AND/OR EQUIPMENT, HE/SHE IS FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL COST OF THE DEPOSIT, RENTAL FEE, FUEL COSTS IF APPLICABLE, AND  RENTER ALSO ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES TO COMPLY WITH HIS/HER FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COST OF ANY NECESSARY REPAIRS FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGES AND/OR LOSS WHICH MAY OCCUR TO THE BOAT, KAYAK, AND/OR EQUIPMENT WHILE IN THE RENTERS POSSESSION, AND AGREES NOT TO ATTEMPT TO DEFRAUD THE BOAT, KAYAK, AND EQUIPMENT OWNER BY DISPUTING ANY OF THE CHARGES WITH THEIR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION, TAWAKONI BOAT & KAYAK RENTALS, OR OWNER, AFTER THE FACT.

RENTAL FEES:

Rental fees for watercrafts and equipment are due at the meeting location at rental start time. Rental fees must be paid in full prior to Renter taking possession of the boat, kayak, or equipment.

Security deposits will be charged to a valid credit card, in the Renter's name, at the time of booking.

 

MULTIPLE DAY AND OVERNIGHT RENTALS:

Renter is responsible for the cost of fuel beyond the original 10 gallons provided with boat rentals. Additional fuel charges will be charged to the Renter's card on file. 

A $25.00 boat cleaning fee for simple cleaning and sales tax, will apply. Extensive cleaning fees will apply and be charged to the Renter's card on file, if the boat, kayak or equipment required extensive cleaning or must be removed from the water to adequately clean for the next rental.

Renters and all passengers are responsible for reviewing all policies and procedures, prior to booking. By booking a rental, Renter acknowledges and agrees to all policies and procedures.

 

DELIVERY/PICKUP FOR CERTAIN LOCAL AIR BNB RENTERS: 

• Renters staying at Peninsula Ranch may request their rental pontoon be delivered and picked up. Peninsula Ranch is about a 50-minute boat ride from our location, so an additional $125 fee will apply for these services. This covers on-water delivery to Peninsula Ranch and on-water pickup from Peninsula Ranch. 

BY COMPLETING A RENTAL BOOKING, RENTER ACKNOWLEDGES THESE ARE PEER TO PEER RENTALS AND AGREES TO COMPLY WITH ALL RENTAL  POLICIES, AND UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES THAT ONCE HE/SHE TAKES POSSESSION OF THE BOAT, KAYAK, AND/OR EQUIPMENT, HE/SHE IS FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL COST OF THE DEPOSIT, RENTAL FEE, FUEL COSTS IF APPLICABLE, AND  RENTER ALSO ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES TO COMPLY WITH HIS/HER FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COST OF ANY NECESSARY REPAIRS FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGES AND/OR LOSS WHICH MAY OCCUR TO THE BOAT, KAYAK, AND/OR EQUIPMENT WHILE IN THE RENTERS POSSESSION, AND AGREES NOT TO ATTEMPT TO DEFRAUD THE BOAT, KAYAK, AND EQUIPMENT OWNER BY DISPUTING ANY OF THE CHARGES WITH THEIR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION, TAWAKONI BOAT & KAYAK RENTALS, OR OWNER, AFTER THE FACT.

SECURITY DEPOSITS AND
DAMAGE RESPONSIBILITY

PAYMENTS FOR SECURITY DEPOSITS

 

SECURITY DEPOSITS:

Although minimal, security deposits are a necessity for liability purposes.

Once the Renter takes possession of the watercraft and equipment, any damage, loss, deterioration in their quality, performance, or efficacy becomes the financial responsibility of the Renter to repair. The security deposit amount will be applied to the cost of repairs and any additional costs will be charged to the Renter's card on file.

• If the watercrafts and equipment are returned without damage, loss, deterioration in their quality, performance, or efficacy, the damage portion of your security deposit will be fully refunded, minus the cleaning fee and any additional fuel usage charges, if applicable.

PONTOONS: (PER BOAT)

• A $400.00 Security Deposit for your boat rental is required at time of booking to secure your reservation. 

• Your $400.00 security deposit is fully refundable if the boat(s) and equipment are returned without damage or loss, minus the cleaning fee and any additional fuel usage charges, if applicable.

ALL KAYAKS: (PER KAYAK)

• A $50.00 Security Deposit for kayak rental is due at time of booking to secure your reservation. (Amount will be held, not charged.)

• Your $50.00 security deposit is fully refundable if the kayak(s) and equipment are returned without damage or loss.

HOLIDAY & SPECIAL CALENDAR EVENT RENTALS:

• A $500.00 Security Deposit for boat rentals and $65.00 Security Deposit for kayak rentals is due at time of booking to secure your reservation. Due to the demand in rental requests on holidays and special events, the deposit for holiday bookings is non-refundable.

 

Holidays include, but are not limited to, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and any Special Calander Events. Holiday/Special Calander Event rates will apply to the day of, the weekend of, and/or the week or weekend before and after, depending on what day of the week the holiday or special calendar event falls on.  

• Holiday/Special Calendar Event bookings are final and non-refundable, even in the event of cancellation, unless Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni cancels the reservation due to hazardous weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. In the event Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni must cancel your reservation, a credit voucher for a future rental, during the same season, will be issued to the Renter. Refunds will apply in some situations, at the discretion of the owner. 

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILY OF RENTER:

• Please note that when the time frame of the rental is over and the Renter has returned the watercraft and equipment back to Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni possession and upon inspection, it is determined that the watercraft or equipment have sustained any damages or loss, or requires refueling, maintenance, and/or repairs before the watercraft can be put into use again, the Renter's Security Deposit will be applied to the necessary maintenance and/or repair costs.

• Any additional costs required, beyond the total Security Deposit, to cover loss, repairs, damages, to the watercraft and/or equipment, or additional fuel costs, which occurs while in the Renters possession, and exceeds the amount of your security deposit, will be charged to the Renters' card on file and may not be disputed after the fact. 

• Renter is also financially responsible for any damage or loss made by any passengers to the watercraft and/or equipment he/she rented.

*NOTICE REGARDING MECHANIAL OR EQUIPMENT FAILURE*

• It is important to keep in mind that our livery boats (rental boats) run multiple times a day for 8-12 hours. They are not personal vessels which only go out a few times a month, so service and maintenance is required much more frequently.

• We work hard to keep our boats in good running condition, but due to their frequent use, there may be times when need for a repair presents itself during a rental.

• We have a marine mechanic on staff who will immediately respond to any repair needs that may occur.

• These kinds of repairs typically take no more than 20 minutes to complete.

• Any time the renter may lose during their rental to complete repairs, will be compensated by either extended time added to the rental, equivalent to the time lost, or a credit voucher for the future, during the present season, equivalent to the time lost. Vouchers cannot be redeemed on weekends, holidays, or special calendar events.

WHAT TO KNOW:

*NOTICE FOR PONTOON RENTALS*

• The operator of the boat must be at least 25 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license or be 21 years of age or older with a valid boating license. Anyone Renter or boat operator that is 21 years of age or older, who does not have a valid boating license or at least 5 years of personal boat ownership and experience, will require a Captain for their rental.

• The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department requires anyone driving the boat who was born on or after September 1, 1993, to complete a Boater Education Course. You must provide Texas Water Sport Rentals with proof of your completed course prior to launch. Please refer to the link below for information about the course. 👇

• Rental will be cancelled if boat operators, who are required, fail to complete the Boater Education Course by the scheduled rental start time. 

• All age passengers are welcome to participate in rental activities.

• All minor children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

• Please notify Lake Tawakoni Boat & Kayak Rentals, in advance, of the age and weight of each minor child that will be passengers on the boat, so we can provide each of them with a properly fitted life vest.

TEXAS STATE LAW PROHIBITS RENTAL BOATS FROM BEING OPERATED ON THE WATER BEFORE SUNRISE OR AFTER SUNSET. BOATS AND EQUIPMENT MUST BE RETURNED TO THE MARINA NO LATER THAN 20 PRIOR TO SUNSET.

 

*NOTICE FOR LEISURE KAYAKS*

• The renter must be 18 years of age or older.

• All age passengers are welcome.

• All minor children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

TEXAS STATE LAW PROHIBITS RENTAL KAYAKS FROM BEING OPERATED ON THE WATER BEFORE SUNRISE OR AFTER SUNSET. KAYAKS AND EQUIPMENT MUST BE RETURNED NO LATER THAN 20 PRIOR TO SUNSET.

PONTOON RENTALS:

• Your meeting location is The Duck Cove Marina located at 2757 Private Road 3824, Quinlan, TX, 7547. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your rental start time and call our office when you arrive. A representative will meet you at the dining tables located just outside The Quack Shack, upon your arrival. Renter and all passengers must be present at rental start time. Additional passengers may not be loaded onto the boat after the Renter takes possession of the boat and equipment at the marina. 

• ALL safety equipment, required by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, will be onboard the vessel, including one life vest for every passenger, floating throw cushion, airhorn/whistle, distress flag, rowing paddle, fire extinguisher, first aid kit and anchor with line. A representative of Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni will show you the exact location of each item, along with verbal and written instructions for use, prior to launch. 

• Please keep in mind that our pontoons have a passenger weight capacity of 1,830 pounds. This includes the weight of coolers and other carry-on equipment and items brought onboard. The maximum capacity of passengers is determined by the manufacturer using a standard of approximately 152 pounds per passenger and is enforced for the safety of the passengers and performance of the boat. While rare, in certain circumstances, the passenger count may have to be adjusted due to the vessel's weight capacity.

• Any passenger 13 years of age and under MUST wear a life jacket AT ALL TIMES, while on the boat.

KAYAK RENTALS:

8' AND 10' SINGLE LEISURE KAYAKS

• Maximum capacity for these kayaks is 1 passenger.

• Paddles and all safety equipment, required by The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, including one life vest per passenger, safety whistle, and paddle lanyards, will be provided, along with instructions for use. 

DOUBLE LEISURE KAYAKS

• Maximum capacity for these kayaks is 2 passengers.

• Paddles and all safety equipment, required by The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, including one life vest per passenger, safety whistle, and paddle lanyards, will be provided, along with instructions for use. 

Your meeting location is 11460 FM 751, Wills Point, TX, 75169. You will need to park in the Duck Cove public boat ramp parking lot, located next to our shop, and then walk to our building. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your rental start time and call when you arrive. A representative will meet you at our main gate with your kayak(s) and equipment. Renter is responsible for safely transporting the kayak(s) to and from the launch located in the parking lot. If you require assistance getting your kayak(s) in and out of the water, please notify Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni at least 24 hrs prior to your rental start time, so representatives can be dispatched to help you safely load and unload your kayak(s).
• ALL passengers will be fitted for and provided with a life jacket.

• Any passengers 13 years of age and under MUST wear a life vest AT ALL TIMES while on the kayak.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

 

Renter and all passengers must be present at the marina at the start of the rental for all boat rentals. Any additional passengers, not present for the verbal safety briefing or to sign liability waivers and safety documents prior to Renter taking possession of the boat, are prohibited from boarding the boat after the rental has started.

Renter and boat operators are prohibited from docking or tying up the boat to any structure other than the slip at Duck Cove Marina. This includes, but is not limited to, docks, piers, slips, bridges, boat ramps, launches, stumps, shorelines or other boats or vessels. The anchor may be used to secure the boat to the lakebed, at least 300 ft from any shoreline or structure, if the Renter or passengers wish to swim or fish. In the event the Renter needs to return to the marina at any time during the rental, Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni must be notified by phone, at least 30 minutes prior, so representatives can be dispatched to help the Renter pull the boat back into and out of the slip.

• For safety purposes, Renters and boat operators are prohibited from pulling the boat in and out of the designated slips, without assistance of Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni staff.

• You may bring any food and/or drinks, including a cooler. (NO GLASS) Boat operator is prohibited from consuming alcoholic beverages. If everyone in your party plans to consume alcoholic beverages, a Captain will be required.

All of our vessels are equipped with a wireless video cameras and Live GPS Mapping & Monitoring System, used for monitoring the vessel's location and systems. They act as a direct communication link between the boats being rented and Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni staff. 

• Our pontoons and kayaks are prohibited from leaving Lake Tawakoni and are required to stay within designated areas of the lake, determined by Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni for your safety. A map will be provided to the renter and party outlining the authorized and prohibited areas of the lake.

• 10 gallons of gas are provided for all boat rentals. The cost of any additional gas beyond the provided 10 gallons, is the responsibility of the renter. Additional fuel cost will be deducted from the Renter's Security Deposit.

Renter is fully responsible for the cost of all fuel used during weekday rental specials, if applicable. (Monday-Thursday) Fuel cost will be deducted from the Renter's Security Deposit.

• Boats must be returned with a full tank of gas for overnight and multiple day rentals, unless the Renter would prefer for Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni to refuel the boat, in which case, the cost will be deducted from the Renter's Security Deposit.

Rabbit Cove Marina, on Lake Tawakoni has drive-up marine gas pumps, should the renter choose to refuel during their rental. 

Towing of any kind is prohibited. This includes, but not limited to, skies, tubes, knee boards, wake boards, and banana boats.

Unused time is not reimbursable; in the event the Renter chooses or needs to end the rental early.

Renters, boat operators, and passengers are responsible for becoming familiar with Boat & Kayak Rentals On Lake Tawakoni' policies, procedures, terms and conditions, prior to booking. By completing a rental booking, Renter, boat operators, and all passengers acknowledge, understand, and agree to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions.
